Procedure
To get the benefits of this injection, you need to self-administer vitamins via injections into a muscular area such as the deltoid, glute, or frontal thigh. This type of injection is called an Intramuscular Injection (IM) which is the recommended route of administration.

How It Works
This injection contains Vitamin D3, an essential vitamin naturally found in food like fish and eggs. Vitamin D is also produced by the body when exposed to sunlight. It helps regulate calcium and phosphorus in the body and plays a role in maintaining proper bone structure.

Vitamin D deficiency can be caused by age, long periods of grey weather, and poor eating habits. Boosting this vitamin in the body may treat a range of conditions such as weak bones, heart disease, and asthma, and could even provide relief for hay fever. UV-blocking sunscreen and pollution have been found to potentially cause vitamin D deficiencies. However, an injection is an easy way to treat it.

How Often Should You Take It?
Dosing will be prescribed by the medical practitioner based upon your consultation. Monthly dosing is typically in the range of 2 to 3 times per month.

Precautions
Taking vitamin D could make atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) worse, especially in people with kidney disease. Vitamin D might increase calcium levels in people with histoplasmosis. This could lead to kidney stones and other problems. Use with caution. Vitamin D is possibly unsafe when used in higher amounts during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Using higher doses might cause harm to the infant. Check for side effects and any known drug interactions.
